• Shoveler (Anas clypeata) – 2 ind.
• Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) – 3 ind.
• Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans) – 8 ind.
• Black-headed Gull (Chroicocephalus ridibundus) – 3650 ind. (roosting)

Lake Ptuj:

• Red-throated Loon (Gavia stellata) – 3 ind.
• Greylag Gooses (Anser anser) – 1 ind.
• Long-tailed Duck (Clangula hyemalis) – 1 ind.
• Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca) – 1 ind.
• Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) – 730 ind. (roosting)
• Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus) – 95 ind.

DOPPS is project partner of AdriaWet2000 – Adriatic Wetlands for Natura 2000. Within the project the workshop was held on 14th of February 2014 in Gorizia, Italy, led by Dr. James Hardcastle from IUCN Global Protected Areas Programme – Geneva, Switzerland. Programme of the workshop was as following: (1) economic and financial balance of protected areas, (2) financial instruments for management of protected areas, (3) self-financing and (4) best practice examples. Because Dr. Hardcastle is an experienced world known expert and we are establishing nature reserve as part of project LIVEDRAVA, our team working on this Life+ project also attended this workshop. Workshop was excellent and gave us some new ideas, which we are going to implement, especialy for preparation of »After-LIFE« conservation plan under project action F.4.

On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th of February 2014 a visit from our project supervisor, prof. dr. Mitja Kaligarič, who performs supervisory function for the European Commission under aegis of Astrale organization took place. On Thursday we have reported in detail on our work and project achievements in the last year or since last supervisory visit, which took place on 17th and 18th February 2013. Reporting was done on the premises of DOPPS, Tržaška cesta 2, Ljubljana and represetitives of project partners and co-financer VGB – mag. Smiljan Juvan and Alenka Kovačič, VGP Drava – Agata Suhadolnik and MKO – Julijana Lebez Lozej also attended. Substantive report was followed by administrative and financial verification. The next day, on Friday, supervisor examined project sites and performances on the field. We focused on Ormož Basins, because untill now, most of our field work was done on that site.


Behing us is tough project year, especialy in terms of project management and actions of obtaining all needed approvals and permits. Nonetheless we managed to acchieve all the objectives and we estimate, that our project work is going well which also showed at project supervision.
