• Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) – 41 ind.
• Gadwall (Anas strepera) – 18 ind.
• Northern Pintail (Anas acuta) – 7 ind.
• Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) – 4 ind.
• Coot (Fulica atra) – 2143 ind.
• Spotted Redshank (Tringa erythropus) – 1 ind.
• Little Gull (Hydrocoloeus minutus) – 1 ind.

Lake Ptuj:

• Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) – 1 ind.
• Dunlin (Calidris alpina) -15 ind.
• Lesser Black-backed Gull (Larus fuscus) – 15 ind.
• Caspian Gull (Larus cachinnans) – 1 ind.
• Black Tern (Chlidonias niger) -12 ind.

Within the project LIVEDRAVA we published a brochure that presents the project on 29 pages in colour. The project and its main actions, nature of river ecosystem, threats and solutions for the future are presented in popular scientific way. We printed 60 000 copies of which 53 635 were sent out to households along the project area, the remaining copies will be available for public on various occasions. Copies are available in the office of DOPPS in Tržaška 2 and in the temporary project office in Ormoške lagune. The brochure is free and can be also downloaded from DOPPS’ and project’s webpage. Within the project LIVEDRAVA we leased a 6,747 square meters big plot of land from the owner Mr. Martin Torič for 25 years. The territory will be used exclusively for preservation, at the same time this will ensure successful implementation of the project and management of the future natural reserve.

Within the project LIVEDRAVA we leased a 6,747 square meters big plot of land from the owner Mr. Martin Torič for 25 years. The territory will be used exclusively for preservation, at the same time this will ensure successful implementation of the project and management of the future natural reserve.

Municipality of Ormož accepted municipal spatial plan (OPN) in April 2013 and defined that for the future management of the area of Ormož Basins a detailed spatial plan (OPPN) will be needed, which should be done on account and expenses of investor, that is DOPPS. We left this task to specialized company V prostoru d.o.o., which with our cooperation prepared a proposal for OPPN for Ormož Basins Nature Reserve (in establishment). After remarks of all parties in the spatial arrangement, public discussion and remarks of municipal councilors (at the 30th session of Municipal council, 2. 6. 2014) the proposal was accepted at the 31st session of Municipal council on 21 July 2014. Three municipal councilors suggested a referendum about the OPPN. At the 32nd session (1. 9. 2014) the proposal for referendum was considered, but wasn’t supported by the majority, so the OPPN was published on 2 September 2014 in Official newsletter of Municipality of Ormož and it comes in force 8th day after being published. This spatial act is important for DOPPS because it gives foundation for arrangement of the natural reserve, especially building of infrastructure, for which we need building permit – stables for grazing cattle, educational path and observatories, entrance point, parking space etc. We thank Mr. Alojz Sok, the mayor of Ormož, for support with proposal for OPPN and leading the sessions.
