Interesting bird sightings from our regular waterbirds monitoring on the Drava river – 4th 10-day period:
Lake Ormož:
- Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) – 1 ind.
- Greater Scaup (Aythya marila) – 1 ind.
- Smew (Mergellus albellus) – 40 ind.
- Common Merganser (Mergus merganser) – 11 ind.
Lake Ptuj:
- Black-necked Grebe (Podiceps nigricollis) – 1 ind.
- Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca) – 2 ind.
- Long-tailed Duck (Clangula hyemalis) – 1 ind.
- Velvet Scoter (Mellanita fusca) – 2 ind.
- Common Snipe (Gallinago gallinago) – 1 ind.
