Interesting bird sightings from our regular waterbirds monitoring on the Drava river – 14th 10-day period:
Lake Ormož:
- Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) – 2 ind.
- Ruddy Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) – 1 ind.
- Whiskered Tern (Chlidonias hybrida) – 1 ind.
- Red-footed Falcon (Falco vespertinus) – 223 ind. (Flying over)
- Montagu’s Harrier (Circus pygargus) – 1 ind. (Flying over)
Lake Ptuj:
- Red-necked Grebe (Podiceps grisegena) – 2 ind.
- Pygmy Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus) – 1 ind.
- Spotted Redshank (Tringa erythropus) – 1 ind.
- Mediterranean Gull (Larus melanocephalus) – 5 ind.
- White-winged Black Tern (Chlidonias leucopterus) – 4 ind.
