On Lake Ptuj two new islands were made for common terns. Each of them mesaures 1000 square meters, they are covered by pebbles and shallow by one side, which is important for terns during nesting. The investor (DEM), constructor (FIRA), projectant (VGB Maribor), representative of fishermen’s family and DOPPS conducted a review of the works on 3 September 2014 and decided the islands are made within the scope of the plans and they are appropriate nesting place for terns. We cannot wait for the next nesting seasons and the arrival of terns!
