On Saturday, 19th of April 2014 we cleared and prepared the breeding banks for Sand Martin on river Drava near village Središče ob Drave as a part of the action C.9 Preparation of the river banks for breeding of the Kingfisher and Sand Martin. Eight volunteers participated in action, their work resulting in 40m of steep sand banks. With this action we finished preparations of sand banks on river Drava for this year and now we are awaiting our clients – Sand Martins!
Action was carried out as a part of the project LIVEDRAVA: Riparian ecosystem restoration of the lower Drava River in Slovenia (LIFE11 NAT/SI/882).
