Regular monitoring of water birds on the river Drava – 24th decade

Interesting bird sightings from our regular water birds monitoring on the Drava river – 24th decade:


 
Ormož Wastewater Basins:

  • White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) – 1 adult
  • Marsh Harrier (Circus aeruginosus) – 1 female, 2 young (from the pair, breeding in Ormož Wastewater Basins)

Lake Ormož:

  • Purple Heron (Ardea purpurea) – 1 individual
  • Spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia) – 1 individual
  • Black Stork (Ciconia nigra) – 2 individuals
  • Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina) – 1 individual
  • Ferruginus Duck (Aythya nyroca) – 4 individuals
  • Grey Plover (Pluvialis squatarola) – 2 individuals
  • Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) – 22 individuals
  • Broad-billed Sandpiper (Limicola falcinellus) – 2 individuals
  • Curlew (Numenius arquata) – 10 individuals
  • Marsh Sandpiper (Tringa stagnatilis) – 1 individual
  • Turnstone (Arenaria interpres) – 1 individual

Lake Ptuj:

  • Red-necked Grabe (Podiceps grisegena) – 1 individual
  • Pygmy Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus) – 85 individuals
  • Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) – 32 individuals (prenočujejo)
  • Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) – 1 individual
  • White-winged Tern (Chlidonias leucopterus) – 1 individual
