This spring, as for many before we organized several voluntary actions of managing river sandbanks along river Drava. Managing of sandbanks on river Drava is crucial for the populations od Sand martin and Kingfisher. Without continuous help of many volunteers, both species would probably disappear from this area.

As a part of project LIVEDRAVA and together with our project partner Manucipality Ptuj we constructed observation tower on the right bank of Lake Ptuj. It will enable better line of sight for the birdwatchers visiting the lake. Because of towers location it will be possible to observe breeding colonies of Common Tern, Black-headed and Mediterranean Gulls on lake’s artificial islands. Interior of observation tower is equiped with determination and information boards, informing visitors about bird life on Lake Ptuj.

Observation tower will be closed untill the Operation Permit is granted (begining of september). We will keep you up-to-date with all the informations regarding its opening.
