Interesting bird sightings from our regular water birds monitoring on the Drava river – 12th decade: More


On Saturday, 19th of April 2014 we cleared and prepared the breeding banks for Sand Martin on river Drava near village Središče ob Drave as a part of the action C.9 Preparation of the river banks for breeding of the Kingfisher and Sand Martin. More

Upper Drava river in Austria is beeing well managed for many years now – with removal of embankments and opening of river branches (side arms). What’s intersting is that those are priority measures on Natura 2000 sites, because the main goal of those actions is the protection of biodiversity. We only wish that would be the case in Slovenia. More

In March restoration of Graphoderus bilineatus habitat was completed. In progress 200m of ditch was cleared of sludge and it was deepened to minimum 1m, the banks were arranged and meanders created. More
